CAMIGUIN, Mambajao, March 5 (PIA) — The Department of Health pooled in all health coordinators in Camiguin last week to review and formulate strategies that seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of newborn screening (NBS) service in the region. The participants include health officers, public health nurses, and rural health midwives. Prior to this meet, all local chief executives including the Association of Barangay Council president and local committee on health representatives in the province were also assembled in bid to increase the local government’s budget for NBS. The Provincial Health Office said this could help absorb and subsidize poor infants whose parents were non-PhilHealth members. (PIA 10)
