MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, May 9 (PIA) — A total of 382 community investigative support (CIS) volunteers were sworn in last month as new partners of the police investigation unit in addressing criminality in the province.
Police Senior Superintendent Eliseo Tam Rasco of the 10th Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (10RCIDU) personally launched the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-CIS in the island through a two-day basic orientation seminar among the newly installed volunteers.
The pioneering group took a series of lectures that mostly focused on crime prevention awareness, modus operadi of criminal groups, and on the police intelligence cycle.
Camiguin Provincial Planning and Development Officer, Felicisimo M. Gomez, meanwhile, underscored the significant role of the CIS, especially in the networking and coordination efforts.
To cap the event, the provincial government together with the 10th CIDG-CIS initiated a lanzones tree-planting activity. (PIA 10)
