MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, Oct. 9 (PIA) — Camiguin province was named as the Hospital Emergency Management Staff (HEMS) national awardee for the 2011 evaluation.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) gave the recognition on Friday, October 5.
Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) Chief Felicisimo M. Gomez said the Camiguin General Hospital (CGH) won the award for the province.
HEMS is a sub-committee of the DRRMC which focuses on overseeing preparedness and response to health emergencies.
Gomez said the response teams have successfully developed tools to smoothen operations in emergency rescue and cutting ultimately the response time in going to the hospital.
The CGH on the other hand have developed a manual in responding to emergencies and initiated trainings, necessary to ensure effective management approach to HEMS. (JCV/PIA 10)
