CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, April 13 (PIA) — Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Northern Mindanao has released P6.4 million assistance to Camiguin province for health facility enhancement.
The amount covers building improvement of the five rural health units (RHUs), as well as, the Tangaro, Panghiawan, and Sto. Niño Barangay Health Stations in Catarman town.
For Hospital improvement, the DOH has already poured in P20million in 2010 for the development of the Camiguin General Hospital and an additional P5 million in 2012.
Another local government unit (LGU) operated hospital in the island that received infrastructure assistance from the national government is the Catarman District Hospital, with P7million worth of improvement.
Luis Simbajon of the DOH Health Facility Enhancement Program explained that the infrastructure assistance is based on programs and projects spelled under the barangay, municipal, and provincial Health Investment Plan.
He said that aside from infra, the department has also released funding for equipment to complement the facility improvement.
A total of P2.1million funding equipment was likewise released for Camiguin this year which will be distributed among its three RHUs.(PIA)
