Camiguin recorded 5,000 additional voters for October polls

MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN, August 20 (PIA) – The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office here recorded some 5,130 voters application during the 10-day registration for barangay and Sanguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.

New applications consists heavily of SK voters (3,522), followed by new registrants (1,161), transferees (271), reactivation (145) and correction of registration records (31).

Of the five municipalities, COMELEC record shows, Mambajao with   the highest number of new voter registrants or some 1,167 applications, while Catarman, Sagay, Mahinog and Guinsiliban towns posted some 757, 639, 612, and 350 voters application, respectively.

These applications, according to the COMELEC Camiguin Provincial office, are still subject for approval by the Election Registration Board (ERB).

The ERB hearing, meanwhile, for approval/disapproval of applications for registration or transfer of registration records already started on August 12. (PIA)
