MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN, October 12 (PIA) – More than 400 senior citizens and person with disabilities (PWDs) availed of the mobile birth certificate reconstruction and registration here, during the “Makanunayong Serbisyo Alang sa Katawhan” (MSAK) barangay visits.
MSAK is a regular program of the local government of Mambajao, bringing basic government services to the barangays.
This year, it was expanded to cover civil registration services, with special focus on the senior citizens, where most records were destroyed by the Japanese occupation, volcanic eruption, and termites.
The outreach started off last August until this month to cover all 15 barangays in Mambajao.
Editha B. Moosreiner, Municipal Civil Registrar said this is their way of honoring the elderly and those with disabilities, in time for the “Elderly Filipino Week Celebration” on October 1-7 and the “Senior Citizens Month Celebration” last September.
The MSAK program also brings in services like the medical, dental, feeding, seeding distribution, even hair and facial make-over. It is the government’s way of giving back to the people, what the people need. (JCV/PIA)
