MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN, March 12 (PIA) – To strengthen the system in tracking the unmet needs in family planning, volunteers and municipal population officers here undergoes basic family planning and interpersonal communication and counseling training.
It was scheduled in two batches late last month and attended by nearly 60 volunteers and at least eight population officers around the province.
Topics covered during the training include responsible parenthood, fertility awareness, family planning method, as well as the myths and misconceptions on family planning.
Governor Jurdin Jesus M. Romualdo underscored the role of the volunteers as community partners and encouraged them to play their part well despite the day to day difficulties they encounter.
These volunteers are tapped by the government to reach out and guide couples in their respective localities about family planning methods, whichever approach they opt to use. (JCV/PIA)
