
MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, September 23 (PIA) – A new ordinance looking into the construction, use, and occupancy of dormitories and boarding houses was enacted by the local government unit of Mambajao on 03 August 2015.
It is the capital town of the province and home to two of the three colleges present in the island.
Municipal ordinance no. 2015-62 seeks only to ensure that students and working minors will have sufficient shelter and sound environment conducive to the promotion of their health and protection against exploitation, influences, and other hazards.
All owners/operators must satisfactorily comply with the standards and requirements before they can get hold of their license to operate and corresponding mayor’s permit which should be prominently displayed at the front doorway of the building or structure.
The Sangguniang Bayan further requires a separation in activities and premises for males and females boarders. (JCV/PIA)
