DTI-Camiguin turned over a primary dairy processing equipment

MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, November 06 (PIA)- Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Camiguin Provincial Office turned over Primary Dairy Processing Shared Services Facility (SSF) to the Camiguin Provincial Government Dairy Farm on 23 October 2015 during the Ugmad Agri-Trade and Tourism Fair. 

The dairy farm management is managed by the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO), including the production which covers the cattle shed and other farm structures, second is the fresh milk collection, processing and marketing.  

The shared facility turned over include packaging sterilizers to destroy all pathogenic organisms in the packaging materials of fresh milk, a chiller and chest freezers that serve as cooling equipment to preserve the shelf life of the fresh milk, a stainless cooling tub and stainless and food grade Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliant working tables.
  The Provincial LGU aimed at promoting fresh milk in Camiguin to fight malnutrition problem among children and share the commitment with the other Local Chief Executives to integrate the fresh milk in the feeding program of the 5 municipalities in Camiguin.

For 2 years now, the fresh milk production of the Camiguin Dairy farm surprisingly expanded market coverage to resorts, restaurant and local residents both Camiguin natives and foreigners living in Camiguin. (Zita M. Abellare, DTI-Camiguin, PIA Cam iNet)
