MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, December 28 (PIA) – A total of P582,468,870 assessed real property tax value was posted by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO) here as of November 2015, higher from the P573,225,760 figure posted from the same period last year.
Provincial Assessor Gilda B. Noguera noted that only one percent of the total tax collectible assessed value will be directed to the local government’s coffers, to include fees from various transactions like the issuance of tax declarations, certifications, annotation/cancellation, sketch plans and more.
“We have reported a 9.84 percent increase for the period, owing it mostly to the newly discovered / declared lands and buildings in 87 Real Property Tax units (RPUs) out of 50,453 RPUs present in the province,” she said.
A P155,565,280 assessed value was also declared non-taxable in this year’s assessment round, while the office is also involved in the appraisal committee for properties affected by government projects. (JCV/PIA)
