DOLE educates graduating students in employment

MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, March 1 – In preparation for the world of work, the Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. 10 (DOLE-10) gathered the secondary and tertiary schools in Camiguin to give Graduating Students a Career Guidance and Employment Coaching.

Through its Camiguin Provincial Field Office (Cam PFO) with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Federation of Camiguin, the activity was held on 9-19 February 2016.

DOLE-10 Cam PFO OIC, Arlyn Z. Bael told the students that the Career Guidance and Employment Coaching are programs of the Department for their career paths.

Bael reported to DOLE-10 Regional Director Raymundo G. Agravante, that the activity covered Grade 9 students, formerly 4th year high school students. She added that the students were guided on skills and courses in line with the K-12 Program, to take-up later.

Also, Bael reported that LEGS was also shared to the students. “It aims to prepare the graduating students in the world of work, preparing them on DOLE’s various services like employment facilitation, workers protection, and social security coverage for the employees.

Technical Education Skills and Development Authority-X (TESDA-X) and Career Guidance Network-X likewise supported the activities conducted.

Schools that were covered include Bonbon National High School and Lawigan-Bura National High School, Camiguin National High School and  CPSC Catarman College, Holy Rosary High School and Eulalio Pabillore National High School, Guinsiliban National High School and Maac National High School, Mahinog National High School and CSMPHS, Tupsan National High School and CPSC College, Mambajao National High School and CSAT, Yumbing National High School and Fatima College of Camiguin High School and College.
