DTI-Camiguin turns over village-level bamboo processing SSF to Guinsiliban town

MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, March 31 (PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Camiguin Provincial Office turned-over bamboo processing equipment to the local government unit (LGU) of Guinsiliban last February 2016.

DTI-Camiguin identified Guinsiliban as a qualified partner to manage a shared service for the Productivity Enhancement of village-level bamboo processing facility considering that the raw material is abundant in the area.

The equipment turned-over include pole cutter, twin rip saw, and chain saw. These will eliminate the traditional technique of harvesting their raw materials to increase production volume, improve productivity and to address other production gaps of the sawali makers.

Guinsiliban town Mayor Joanne Marie C. Rubin formally received the Shared Service Facility (SSF) from the DTI-Camiguin Provincial Director Joselito S. Enot, witnessed by other LGU officials. (Zita M. Abellare with reports from Eric L. Aranas, DTI-Camiguin/JCV-PIA 10)
