Food sector industry gets facility assistance from DTI

MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN, May 12 (PIA) – In support to the food sector industry, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Camiguin office turned over food processing tools and equipment shared service facility (SSF) to Yumbing Barangay Council in Mambajao town.

The facility turned over include oven, mixer, grinder, drier, pressure cooker, freezer, and other basic cooking equipment aimed at increasing incomes of local food processors.

DTI said the project is projected to benefit some 30 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Yumbing Barangay Chairman Eusebio P. Romualdo formally received the SSF from DTI Representative Rita Salcedo during the ceremonial turn-over held recently at the barangay hall, witnessed by other barangay officials.

Considering the spur of tourism activities in the barangay because of its proximity to the famous White Island, locals see the potentials that the project will bring to its economy. (Zita M. Abellare with reports from Rita Salcedo, DTI-Camiguin/ PIA-10)
