MAMBAJAO Camiguin, June 24 (PIA) – A Negosyo Center will open soon in Mahinog town to be able to reach and serve more micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in far flung areas of the province.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Camiguin provincial office is spearheading the project in partnership with the municipal local government (MLGU) who is in turn expected to provide the infrastructure facility and personnel to complement DTI in manning the center.
DTI Camiguin Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist and Negosyo Center coordinator Rita R. Salcedo said this is a hub of new technologies and approaches that seek to assist potential businessmen as well as the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries for their sustainable livelihood program.
Salcedo said expanding the facility means reaching more to MSMEs needing financial and technical assistance.
The Negosyo Center is also supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) small enterprise technology upgrading program (SET-UP) which assists SMEs in adopting technology innovations to improve their operations and boost their productivity and competitiveness. (JCV/ PIA 10)
