MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, June 27 (PIA) — In the opening month of classes, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Camiguin Provincial Office has been closely monitoring the prices and quality of school supplies in the local market to ensure that customers will get the best value for money when buying school supplies.

Based on the monitoring report of DTI here, prices of schools supplies in the province are generally reasonable and within the Suggested Retail Prices (SRP).

Among the supplies that were being checked are selected brands of pad paper, notebooks, crayons, ballpens, pencils and bondpaper.

Generally, the stores also complied with the specific standard requirements and inventory levels are stable and sufficient to cope the peak demand.

Consumers are always encouraged by DTI to compare the quality of the products by checking the label before purchase.

The SRP of school supplies was released nationwide by DTI three weeks before the opening of classes to ensure that establishments will not exceed with the SRP. (Zita M. Abellare with reports from Varry Labial, DTI-Camiguin, PIACamInet)
