MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN, July 30 (PIA) – Close to P2M technology assistance was turned over by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to the province of Camiguin as support to the establishment of a dairy processing plant.
This is under DOST’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program dubbed SET-UP.
New sets of pasteurizer, homogenizer, finish product holding tank, boiler hot water set, fill seal machine, stainless tables, and motor control were recently turned over in hope to improve the quality of their dairy products and complement the need of the government run dairy farm.
The provincial government pushed the establishment of the facility to be able to showcase dairy production technologies to interested farmer who will be later recipients of the dairy farm’s multiplier program.
It likewise ensures that the facility is compliant to the good manufacturing practices (GMP) and produce dairy products that are safe for human consumption.
This project, meanwhile, is also banked to support the province nutrition program, reducing the prevalence of malnutrition among children through the provision of a daily glass of milk. (JCV/PIA-10)
