DTI-Camiguin conducts bamboo machine operators training

MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, March 22 – The Department Trade and Industry (DTI)-Camiguin conducted the Bamboo Machine Operators Training on March 8-10 at Camiguin School of Arts and Trades (CSAT) Campus in Lumad, Mambajao, Camiguin to further improve the operators’ bamboo handling skills.

The Bamboo Shared Service Facility, which is introduced to the operators, is one of the venues in which engineered bamboos are to be produced.

These equipment, provided to the operators, are targeted fill the gap on the problems of production in the bamboo industry.

Eight individuals were trained to operate mechanized bamboo cutter, splitter, planer and other equipments.

The participants were also trained on the proper use of table saw and arm saw.

The activity is among the series of trainings conducted by the DTI to ensure bamboo processors will be equipped in machine operations and bamboo processing and eventually teach the operators to produce engineered bamboo planks.(Zita M. Abellare/PIA10)
