MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, September 12 — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-X Camiguin Provincial Field Office (Cam PFO) conducted an orientation on the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) to the 200 beneficiaries of the local government unit (LGU) of Mambajao on September 1 at the Municipal Hall and to the 420 beneficiaries of Movement for Better Camiguin.
DOLE-X Cam PFO Chief Emmanuel G. Toledo explained that TUPAD is an Emergency Employment Program under Department Order No. 173, Series of 2017, also known as the Revised Guidelines in the Implementation of DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP).
The beneficiaries availed the minimum 10 day employment period with the minimum wage rate of the area as salary/wage per day. Most of the beneficiaries were self-employed, underemployed and seasonal workers.
Toledo reported that the project was implemented by the LGU-Mambajao as one of the Accredited Co-Partners of the Department of Labor and Employment.
Meanwhile, the Movement for Better Camiguin had four venues for the orientation including Tupsan Pequeño, Mambajao, Panghiawan Catarman, Bugang, Sagay and Poblacion, Guinsiliban, Camiguin.
The implementation of the TUPAD is also under direct administration or monitoring conducted by DOLE-X with release of the wages through M. Lhuiller branches nationwide.(Jovelyn V. Perez/RTP/PIA10)
