CAMIGUIN, December 29 (PIA) — The Camiguin provincial government is set to address the medical needs of Camiguingnons as it boosts the medical facilities of Camiguin General Hospital.
During the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) fourth quarter meeting held recently, PPOC Co-Chair Jurdin Jesus Romualdo said that they will be putting up three dialysis units in Camiguin General Hospital that would serve 70 dialysis patients in the province.
He said that having the facility in the province will no longer require any Camiguingnon to travel from the island to Cagayan de Oro City and other areas just to have the treatment.
As for the province’s cardio program, Romualdo shared that andiogram and andioplasty will be made available to any Camiguingnon in the province’s hospital.
An angiogram is a test to find out which arteries supplying the heart have become narrowed and it uses X-rays to show ‘route maps’ of blood vessels and arteries in the heart. The angioplasty on the other hand, is a treatment performed by a doctor which involves inserting a small inflatable balloon into a narrowed artery.
The addition of such medical facilities are geared towards giving more comfort to the patients in the province.(RTP/PIA10)
