Camiguin to boost health facilities

CAMIGUIN, December 29 (PIA) — The Camiguin provincial government is set to address the medical needs of Camiguingnons as it boosts the medical facilities of Camiguin General Hospital.
During the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) fourth quarter meeting held recently, PPOC Co-Chair Jurdin Jesus Romualdo said that they will be putting up three dialysis units in Camiguin General Hospital that would serve 70 dialysis patients in the province. 
He said that having the facility in the province will no longer require any Camiguingnon to travel from the island to Cagayan de Oro City and other areas just to have the treatment.
As for the province’s cardio program, Romualdo shared that andiogram and andioplasty will be made available to any Camiguingnon in the province’s hospital. 
An angiogram is a test to find out which arteries supplying the heart have become narrowed and it uses X-rays to show ‘route maps’ of blood vessels and arteries in the heart. The angioplasty on the other hand, is a treatment performed by a doctor which involves inserting a small inflatable balloon into a narrowed artery.
The addition of such medical facilities are geared towards giving more comfort to the patients in the province.(RTP/PIA10)

Camiguin hospital gets facelift


MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN, January 12 (PIA) – Apart from the obvious landscaped gardens, the Camiguin General hospital (CGH) had a facelift with the provision of additional air conditioning units, fans, linens and repainting materials for its rooms, among others.


This was reported by Camiguin Governor Maria Luisa D. Romualdo during her state in the province address (SOPA) on Monday, January 9.

The improvement of CGH is one of the administration’s priority agenda in her first 100 days, with the intention of improving CGH’s system and providing quality health care to its constituents.

Since July 2016, a total of 2,165 patients were admitted and some 5,242 out-patient were also treated. Of this number, 1,162 patients have availed of the medical assistance from the Department of Health amounting to P2million.

Romualdo also bared that from the same period, CGH gained a total revenue collection of P7.2 million, these are proceeds from sale of drugs and medicines, professional fees and amount due to patients for excess hospital package cost of PhilHealth (PHIC).  (JCV/PIA 10)

Camiguin new governor eyes hospital improvement in first 100 days


MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN, June 24 – Newly elected governor is eyeing at improving the Camiguin General Hospital (CGH) in her first 100 days at the helm of the province.

Verzon B. Salvaña, executive assistant to the elected governor Maria Luisa D. Romualdo bared this in an interview with Philippine Information Agency (PIA). 

He said it is the intention the new administration to ensure good quality health care service to its constituents by instituting an improved system that will rebound ultimately to sound customer care.

“The equipment are now in place (as provided by the outgoing governor) and should be complemented with quality facility and care so that patients are getting the best of what they paid for,” he added.

Salvaña likewise mentioned the priority thrusts of the province which includes tourism and agriculture.

Romualdo is planning to establish sustainable organic vegetable and flower farms in the province to make it more affordable for the locals and tourist alike. (JCV/ PIA 10)


CGH diagnostic building nears completion


MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN, Aug. 13 (PIA) — The Camiguin General Hospital (CGH) reports the near completion of its P5-million diagnostic building which will house a new CT scan machine. 

The hospital has now completed the installation of the CT-scan lead and will soon be facilitating the purchase of the equipment in the amount of P20-P30 million. 

This is expected to cut transportation needs of patients to the mainland just to undergo CT-Scan diagnosis. 

Several state of the art equipment are also made available in the CGH laboratories like X-ray, endoscopy, urinalysis, CBC, and 4-D ultrasound. 

Dr. Arvin Sampilo of CGH likewise bared that the hospital is currently bidding the installation of sprinkler, electrical rewiring and commissioning of the 475 KW generator automatic transfer switch. 

The European Union, meanwhile, released P1-million assistance for the improvement of the hospital’s façade and parking area. (PIA)
