MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN, December 3 (PIA)- “Lantaw Dagat sa Camiguin” organizers is now calling all novice photographers, local and foreign residents expats to join the first underwater photography contest here.
All photo entries must be taken only in Camiguin Island and preferably within the identified marine protected sites and/or other sites not frequented by divers.
The competition is set in three categories, the macro, wide-angle and marine life behavior. Each photographer is allowed to submit three entries, at most, per category.
Digital still image manipulation in any software is not allowed. All entries must be original and in jpg files, when submitted.
All entries must be taken from December 1 to December 25 period and submitted within the same month.
The photo exhibit will be among the highlights of the Camiguin Foundation Day celebration on January 8, 2014 alongside with the launching of the Camiguin Marine Protected Areas Handbook that will feature all the winning entries.
The competition is initiated by the Camiguin Coastal Resource Management Project (CCRMP) and the provincial government not only to give exposure and credibility to amateur divers but also to promote great diving destinations and rich marine diversity of the province.
