MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN, January 11 (PIA) -All Provincial, Municipal, Barangay Officials, national agencies and the private sector officially launched the Bulawanong Camiguin (Golden Camiguin) Program on January 09, 2017 at the Camiguin Convention Center, Mambajao, Camiguin.
The launching was highlighted with the declaration and signing of the Pledge of Commitment led by the Governor of Camiguin Maria Luisa Romualdo after her State of the Province Address during the 49th Camiguin Day celebration.
Bulawanong Camiguin Program is a priority thrust and development agenda pursuing the productivity and competitiveness in government service, especially among local government units (LGUs) by propelling economic growth, creating friendly environment for attractiveness of investments and excellent performance in all areas of the four pillars of competiveness namely economic governance, government efficiency, infrastructure and disaster resiliency
Mayor Jurdin Jesus M. Romualdo of the capital town of Mambajao led all Local Chief Executives in the commitment pledge of support also by reading in details the roles of the Mayors and vowed to align all programs and projects for the success of the Bulawanong Camiguin of the province.
Meanwhile, DTI-Camiguin Provincial Director Joselito S. Enot led all the national agencies in the pledge of commitment and read in details the roles of DTI and all national agencies for the Bulawanong Camiguin program.
In the year 2015 the Municipality of Mambajao in Camiguin was the National Champion as the Most Competitive Municipality amongst the 980 municipalities in the country with all other municipalities namely Mahinog, Sagay, Guinsiliban and Catarman also faring high in the ranking that contributed to the Provincial Government of Camiguin awarded as top 10 Most Competitive provinces in the country.
All the government officials and heads of agencies of Camiguin vowed to support the vision of competitive Philippines and instill a culture of excellence through public-private sector collaboration as a means to reduce poverty through inclusive growth. (Zita M. Abellare,DTI-Camigui/PIA-10)
