MAHINOG, Camiguin, May 25 — To further empower the People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) in exercising its functions as a citizens’ complaint mechanism against erring personnel, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) conducted a follow-through session with the PLEB Members of Mahinog recently at Katunggan Park, here.
Similar activity would also be undertaken in the succeeding months with the PLEBs of other municipalities.
Such activity was conducted when there was a Provincial Roll-out Orientation for the Capacity Enhancement of the PLEB was undertaken to revitalize the organization on November 2017.
Municipal Mayor Rogerio C. Acle of Mahinog expressed his appreciation for the conduct of the activity and to DILG Camiguin’s assistance for other equally important programs of the local government unit (LGU).
For her part, Provincial Director Rhona G. Pedraza-Abadilla of DILG Camiguin highlighted that as Region 10 becomes a pilot area, PLEB Subsidy-Assistance for 5th-6th class municipalities will continue. This would mean PLEB members in the area will face greater challenge in making their organization functional and responsive to the needs of the localities.
PLEB Chairman SB Chairperson on Peace and Order Winlove M. Labadan shared that their “one for all, all for one” battlecry could be a key factor that the PLEB will rise up to the demands of the times.
PLEB members formulated their action plan for the next quarter and are looking forward to the continuous support of DILG. They likewise expressed their commitment to the overall maintenance and improvement of peace and order in the municipality.(DILG Camiguin/RTP/PIA10)
