Technical schools in Camiguin to participate in TWSP

CAMIGUIN, April 19 (PIA)— To build and strengthen the capacity of the Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in expanding and improving the delivery of quality and relevant training programs to meet job requirements, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has succeeded in tapping the three training schools here in its Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP).

The Camiguin School of Arts and Trades, Camiguin Polytechnic State College, and Fatima College of Camiguin recently responded to the invitation of the agency to offer automotive servicing NC I, electrical installation and maintenance NC II, computer systems services NC II, and plumbing NC I and II.

tesda.JPGTESDA-Camiguin currently offers 16 slots for automotive services, 15 for electrical installation and maintenance, 15 for computer systems services, 14 and 15 for plumbing NC I and II respectively. It will provide for the training cost, assessment fee and per capita cost of the courses that amounts to P510,200.

The schools have submitted their tender to TESDA-Camiguin on April 10 and were selected in accordance with the procedures set forth by the agency.

Since the technical education is multi-entry and exit, various proposed dates on the commencement of every course have been set. The earliest date is on May 5 and the latest is on October 14.(RTP/PIA10)
